Getting started
How does TrimByte work?
Snap a photo of your meal. TrimByte identifies the foods and estimates calories, protein, carbs and fat, shows you the result to review and adjust, then logs it against your daily goal. Your goal is calculated during onboarding from your height, weight, age, sex, activity level and target.
Do I need an account?
No. TrimByte works straight away with a guest account. Adding an email and password (Settings → Account) is optional — it lets your access and plan follow you to a new phone or the web.
How accurate are the estimates?
They are AI estimates from a photo — usually close for everyday meals, less so for hidden ingredients, sauces or unusual portions. Each result shows a confidence level; you can edit any item, portion or number before saving. For medical dietary needs, rely on a professional, not the app.
Can I log without a photo?
Yes — on the capture screen you can pick a photo from your library, and on the review screen you can adjust items and portions manually. You can also log exercise, water and weight from the home screen.
Free trial, plans and billing
What does the free trial include?
Full access for 3 days, no payment method required. Nothing is charged when it ends — you just pick a plan if you want to keep going.
What plans are there?
Weekly, Monthly and Yearly auto-renewing subscriptions, and a one-time Lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency. All plans unlock the same features.
How do I cancel my subscription?
iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → TrimByte → Cancel.
Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions →
Subscriptions → TrimByte → Cancel.
Web: TrimByte → Settings → Manage subscription.
You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting the app does
not cancel a subscription.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases made on iPhone or Android are handled by Apple or Google: request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com or through Google Play's order history. For web purchases, email us within 14 days of the charge.
I bought a plan but the app still shows the paywall
Tap Restore on the paywall (make sure you are signed in to the same App Store / Google account you bought with). If you already have an email on the account, tap Already have an account? Sign in and use that email. Still stuck? Email us with your receipt.
Can I use my plan on another phone or on the web?
Yes, once you have added an email and password to your account. Sign in on the other device and your plan is recognised. Your meal history, however, is stored on each device and does not sync yet.
I have a promo or referral code
Enter it on the paywall (Referral code button). Percentage codes change the price of the plan you choose; some codes apply only on the web version, in which case the app will tell you.
Your data
Where is my food log stored?
On your device only. We do not keep your meals, photos, weight or exercise history on our servers. Meal photos are sent to our server solely to generate the estimate and are not stored. See the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my account and data?
Settings → Account → Delete account removes your account, plan and purchase records from our systems and erases the data on that device. To erase only the local data, use Settings → Reset all data. Cancel any store subscription separately first.
Reminders aren't showing
Check that notifications are allowed for TrimByte in your phone's Settings, that a Focus / Do Not Disturb mode isn't silencing them, and that reminders are switched on in TrimByte → Settings → Reminders. Use Send a test notification there to verify.
